Weiz is in many ways a center of life and energy. A view of the city and its surrounding region shows the variety of lived, applied, incorporated or converted energy, which allows people a worthy today.
All our excursions/ recommended holiday destinations are within 45 minutes travel time from the hotel.
Connecting the old town with nature
The old town around Südtiroler Platz and the main town square offer a glimpse into both the near and the distant past. Contemporary views are promised by the Kunsthaus with its many events. Pleasurable moments are ensured by the diverse gastronomy as well as the dense program of festivals and events.

Hiking with a great view and culinary delights
The nature park "Almenland" is approximately 30 minutes from Weiz. It is the largest connected low alpine pasture area in Europe and is thus ideal for hiking. This region is characterized by stunning panoramas and wild and romantic gorges. Experience the wonderful landscape!

Fun for the whole family
The region between the largest artificial bathing lake – Stubenbergsee - and Apfelstraße, can be explored from the boutique and city hotel zur goldenen Krone on leisurely hiking trails or by bicycle. Apple orchards characterize much of the landscape in ApfelLand.
A real ornamental garden is the "Historical Garden" in Herberstein. It is part of the "Tierwelt Herberstein", the largest zoo in Styria

Culinary delights in southeast Styria
The volcanic terrain in the southeast of Styria has become a destination for inquisitive individuals wishing to find out more about one of the most fascinating landscapes in Austria. This region is a paradise for connoisseurs of wine and lovers of typically regional delicacies.
A special tourist destination in this region is Riegersburg, with its exhibitions and the birds of prey show.

There are many idyllic inns, committed winegrowers and craft companies producing a great variety of delicacies. These can be found between Radkersburg in the south and Ottendorf in the north, in the west around Schwarzau and in the east around Kapfenstein.
Capital of cultural and culinary delights
In the medieval town centre with its streets, narrow alleys, squares and courtyards there is much to explore and even more to enjoy, which you should not only see but also taste. Countless bars, cafés, wine bars, inns and restaurants invite you to sample regional delicacies based on the products of the nearby Styrian Genuss regions.
Graz, with a population of 250,000, is Austria’s second biggest city and only 30 minutes from Weiz.
A walk through the state capital
As a visitor, you can also experience the creative potential of the city on every stroll through the city centre. Of course, the stores of all international brands can be found in the shopping streets of Graz, but it is the many small stores that make up the charm of Graz as a shopping city.
Golf vacation
From our hotel you can reach the golf courses Almenland and Gut Freiberg in about 15 minutes by car.
